Mildew Matters
October 24, 2007
Question:
We use regular tile in our locker rooms, but it never feels like the floors are really clean no matter how hard we scrub. Is there a better product we can use to help fight mildew buildup?
- Andy, New Hampshire
Answer:
Tile seems to be a popular choice for locker room flooring, probably because it's seemingly the best option to combat mold, mildew and bacteria issues. But tile flooring creates more risk with its slippery surface, and maintenance can require heavy solvents or renting commercial machinery. As an alternative, we highly recommend Sportweave. It's fast-drying surface withstands moisture, stains, mildew, and odor-causing bacteria. Plus - with polypropylene fibers - it looks and feels just like carpet, reducing the risk of wet, slippery surfaces and also creating a welcoming atmosphere. Best of all, SportWeave™ can be cleaned using standard shampooing methods AND comes with a 7-year abrasive wear warranty.
