Boflex Hardwood Sports Floor
August 19, 2009
Question: When choosing a flavor (species/color) of wood for the Boflex Hardwood Sports Floor, is one flavor better than the other?
M. Blankenship, Martinsville, VA.
Answer:
Boflex comes in 3 flavors, maple, oak, and ash. They are all classified as "hard" woods. Maple is the traditional "basketball court" looking floor. It tends toward a honey color with moderate "character" (graining). Oak is the more traditional "living room" look with a slightly darker color and a bit more "character". Ash has the coloring of maple with the "character" of oak. For the most part, choice is based on personal preference. Performance and wear-ability will be consistent with all 3 of the flavors.
